Special treats for the horses

Last Tuesday we drove to the “Horse Barn” tack shop in Kamloops where we purchased two 25kg bags of horse treats! Today our horses got treated :)

Giving our horses a treat is a real WIN WIN situation, especially when Nan is giving the treats since Nan loves to give and the horses love to receive.

We now have 32 horses at Echo Valley Ranch, well, 30 really because 32 includes two donkeys; you will see that one of them, Don, does not need to be served treats because he figured out where the mother lode is and helps himself.

It was very nice walking across the field today, the snow has just about gone and there are signs of spring all around; it will not be long now before the field turns green as the hay starts to grow.

Our border collies are keeping a watchful eye on the situation

A job that will be done in about six more weeks will be the harrowing of the field to break up all of those little brown piles that you may notice in some of the pictures. We do not use chemicals or manmade fertilizers on our fields – the little brown piles suffice – thank you horses, you deserve your treats :)

Hey, what about me!

Treat time is over

Just gotta love those horses, eh - Nan too :)
