We took Bett to the vet in Cache Creek yesterday to be spayed. It was sad to have to do this since Bett was such a good Mum, we have ten (10) Border Collie’s at our ranch already however so having more pups was out of the question. There was a complication with the surgery, a small puncture to the bladder was accidentally made, the vet is very competent however so we do not expect any long term problems. In the mean time we must keep Bett in for two weeks to prevent her from running around and perhaps opening her incision, as well as give her antibiotics for a week.

Bett has been to the vet before to either hang out untill she came out of season, or, the first time to be bred with Jack. All in all not a bad experience so she was not alarmed about being at the vets - little did she know!

Surgery complete and other than being very drowsie Bett is ready to go home.

Bett is home and doing just fine.
